Emergency Assistance Program
Retention Services Retention Services are provided to households where a member needs assistance in maintaining employment. These services may include help with transportation costs, uniforms, and car repair. Households must meet the monthly gross income requirements for the services/program for which they are applying and the household must include a minor child. Verifications of household income, residence and need must be documented. |
Contingency Services Contingency Services are provided as emergency assistance services to income eligible households. Households must meet the monthly gross income requirements for the services/program for which they are applying and the household must include a minor child. Verifications of household income, residence and need must be documented. Need must be established by an eviction notice or shut off notice for Contingency Services. Assistance may only be provided once in a twelve month period, under contingency. Applications for the PRC Program are available and accepted at the Shelby County Department of Job and Family Services during regular business hours.
